Schotter, Kies & Moos auf der Cyclingworld 2026
Unsere sonntägliche Gravelrunde im Rahmen der Cyclingword darf man mittlerweile als Institution bezeichnen, seit der ersten Ausgabe rollen wir vom Areal Böhler ins geschotterte Umland. Neben unseren Partnern von Albion, Orbea und Ritchey haben wir in diesem Jahr das GravelBike-Magazin zu Gast am Stand und beim Ride, dazu werden die Heldinnen und Helden von Climaid uns zum Ende des Rides mit Drinks unterstützen. Unser Plan sieht vor, in ein bis zwei geführten Gruppen zu starten, jedoch werden wir allen Teilnehmer*innen im Vorfeld die Strecke zukommen lassen, falls jemand schneller oder langsamer unterwegs sein möchte.
Nachdem wir in den letzten Jahren hauptsächlich linksrheinisch unterwegs waren, wird in diesem Jahr ein kleiner Ausflug über den Rhein in das Umland zwischen Lohausen und Wedau fällig. Hier erwartet uns abwechslungsreiches Terrain zwischen Waldautobahn und kleinen Waldwegen, alles gut fahrbar und Gruppentauglich. Wie immer rollen wir entspannt und rücksichtsvoll gegenüber Spaziergänger*innen, Hundebesitzer*innen und Reiter*innen, nehmen wenn erforderlich Tempo raus und genießen die Runde ohne Jagd nach KOM oder Watt-Werten.
Wir haben in den letzten Jahren gelernt, dass unsere Gravel-Community durchaus wasserfest ist, diverse Regenschauer haben den Spaß nicht genommen. Wir werden uns bei Schietwetter nach dem Ride Mühe geben, euch allen eine kleine Radreinigung zu ermöglichen, mehr dazu demnächst.
Angesichts einiger Erfahrungen im letzten Jahr bitten wir darum, dass ihr mit tauglichen und gewarteten Rädern an den Start geht, ein Helm ist Voraussetzung, ein Klick-Pedal ergibt Sinn. Die Strecke hat wenige Höhenmeter und lässt sich gut fahren, im Sinne der Gruppe gehen wir davon aus, dass alle Teilnehmer*innen schon mal auf einem Gravelbike gesessen haben und sich im Sinne der Gruppe verhalten. Steckt euch für Notfälle einen Ersatzschlauch, Reifenheber und Minitool ein, dazu einen kleinen Snack und etwas zu trinken für unterwegs.
Für uns von der Mütze gilt die Cyclingworld immer als ein grandioser Start in eine neue Radsaison, daher treibt uns die Vorfreude schon seit Monaten um. Unser Stand in der Alten Schmiedehalle ist seit Jahren ein kleines Abbild der Mütze, wir versuchen, dort ein spannendes und abwechslungsreiches Sortiment zu zeigen und werden auch in diesem Jahr wieder einige illustre Gäste begrüßen können. Wenn die Zeit es erlaubt, werden wir euch im Blog in den nächsten Wochen mehr verraten.
Streckenlänge: ca. 55km
Schotteranteil > 50%, größtenteils feste Wege, hin & wieder ein kurzer Abschnitt Singletrail ohne große technischen Herausforderungen. Empfehlung für Reifen 40mm aufwärts, bei trockenem Wetter ist auch ein 35mm Slick kein Problem.
Die Mützen können am Stand auf der Messe abgeholt werden oder werden beim Check-In übergeben.
