A man and his bike - Wilfried de Jong
Cycling Stories
In this book, Wilfried de Jong combines his two passions: writing and cycling. In twenty gripping stories, he steers his (racing) bike through cosmopolitan cities and over lonely country roads in the Italian provinces, through the local dunes and up to the legendary Mont Ventoux in the fog. And despite his constant restlessness, astonishing encounters soon occur on each of his tours. In France, he gets a massage from a racing driver's widow, in Manhattan he's riding in the company of a confused young man aptly named Trouble, and on the bike path in the Rhine-Meuse delta he's speeding towards an undecided coot...
As a writer, the well-known TV presenter, film and theater maker gives his passion for cycling an unmistakable literary voice. Awarded Sports Book of the Year in the Netherlands.
