The Perennial Favorite Among Gravel Bikes

The Genesis Croix de Fer was developed at a time when the term "gravel bike" for this type of bicycle didn't even exist. And if you look closely, the original designation "Adventure Bike" still better suits the versatile all-rounder from the English brand. In 2009, Vin Cox set the world record for circumnavigating the globe by bike on this very model, demonstrating that the Croix de Fer can withstand even the greatest stresses. Since those days, it has been a role model for countless bikes in the gravel bike category, and the all-rounder's geometry has captivated countless riders.
We at Mütze have been fans for years and have already witnessed several updates to this classic. The new 2026 "Massive Li-Lac" model in purple with black logos features the proven Reynolds 725 tubeset, offers thru-axle mounts front and rear, flat-mount brake mounts, and 47mm tire clearance. The frame remains a jack-of-all-trades, whether as a bikepacking companion or a robust gravel racer, as a commuter machine or a flatbar off-road all-rounder, there are no limits to the build options.
The frameset, consisting of frame and fork, comes with the matching thru-axles and a headset from Genesis. Stem, seat post, or any other components shown here, such as wheels or groupset, are not included in the scope of delivery.
In addition to the Reynolds 725 version, the frame is also available as a stainless steel variant made from Reynolds 931 for €2999 and in a titanium version for €3199. Availability of these frames upon request.

The frame has a relaxed geometry, so in many cases, we recommend the smaller of the possible frame sizes. An example: for a height of 1.83m, size M; for < 1.70m, XS.
