...and the third time it's tradition - Querfeldrhein, the hat and a lot more.

…und beim dritten Mal ist es Tradition – Querfeldrhein, die Mütze und einiges mehr.

The last month of our weekly road bike ride series #thankgoditsfriday has begun, our rides are getting shorter again as the days go by and at the next intersection another busy and hopefully just as amusing highlight of the season is waiting for us and everyone else involved: the big Düsseldorf studded tire weekend called Querfeldrhein . Like last year, the Grafenberg racetrack will offer an entertaining mix of professional sports and participatory races for all age groups as well as an extensive supporting program on the more or less knobbly tires, which will bring active participants and spectators together in a positive atmosphere in one of the most beautiful locations in Düsseldorf .

Now even wider...

In addition to the Cycling Club Düsseldorf , the agency destinationX and us, the VfG Düsseldorf and the mountain bike group of the Alpine Club Düsseldorf joined the organizing team this year in order to expand the previous cross and gravel orientation to include the infinite cosmos of mountain bikes. Last year, VfG and Alpenverein realized Düsseldorf's first MTB festival on Staufenplatz with Juicy Rides , which combined a test course, pump track, workshops and a supporting program with a climbing wall and yoga sessions in a family-friendly way. Querfeldrhein is thus supplemented by another important component and now offers all fans of really wide tires countless reasons to visit the Grafenberg facility. Regardless of whether you want to watch or stroll through the grounds, take one of the rides or want to take part in a race - Querfeldrhein 2023 is definitely worth a visit.

This year is not an easy one for the bicycle industry, in many places the marketing budgets for cycling events range between small and “non-existent”, but we have spared no effort and are pleased to be able to realize a two-day program in Grafenberg that is open to the public Orientation may be unique. Whether professional sport, racing formats for children and young people or participation formats for all interests, ability levels and age groups – participants and spectators can look forward to an exciting weekend for all two-wheel enthusiasts. Exhibition area, food trucks, drinks stands and the usual high-class musical performance by our DJs Michael Scheibereiter and Martin Schneider are a bench, the view, location and infrastructure of the wonderful racecourse create a unique environment for a cycling event. And if the weather doesn't cooperate, spectators can watch the races covered in the stands and enjoy the mud-caked protagonists on the slopes.

If you would like to contribute a small part to querfeldrhein: our organization team would be happy to receive your support. And before the question arises as to how you can help, we simply have the link to the help center here:

What's going on? - The program

While on Saturday the Cyclocross Bundesliga club riders of all ages take over the race track and spectacularly take the tight corners, the most extensive supporting program since the invention of the supporting program for cross races is being offered on the site - expo area, MTB specialist seminar, driving - and Jumping technique courses, trick and jump shows, kids course, various gravel and MTB tours and a climbing wall should not leave you bored for a second. The wide range of food trucks and drinks stands will pamper everyone who needs to replenish their calorie balance from time to time.

At 6:30 p.m. we finally invite you again to the 50 kilometer long gravel night ride in the surrounding area towards Ratingen. We will try to have a snack with the beer at the start after the tour this year, details of which will come later.

There are currently plans going on behind the scenes for a small after-Querfeldrhein Saturday evening party, let's see what comes of it.

Sunday morning begins with a variety of children's and young people's participation races, before the cross-border racing formats invite hobby drivers of all ages onto the course from midday. Elite license races finally follow in the afternoon, before a new racing format ends the second day at 5:30 p.m., which is run in a 3-person team relay mode. Parallel to the racing program, the jump show, trick and bunny hop contests and countless other activities will make Sunday go by far too quickly.

Details about all races, the supporting program, the exhibitors and much more can be found on the event homepage . The registration forms for the individual race formats are live, registrations for all races and large parts of the supporting program are available.

If you have questions or comments about Querfeldrhein and would like to discuss them face to face, you have the best chance at the Schwalbe Gravel Games in Herten on September 23rd and 24th - we will be with a team from VfG, Alpine Club, CCD and Mütze be represented at a joint stand and look forward to your visit.

Let's look forward to a wonderful autumn 2023, with exciting events, great bikes and lots of new, stylish things in our hats.

Come around.
