Road cycling is fun. A fact that more and more people are discovering. Also here with us in Düsseldorf. A new event is dedicated to all newcomers who fancy a small guided tour away from busy roads to discover the ride in a group. And looking forward to meeting like-minded people who are also just starting out.

The Düsseldorf area is wonderfully suited to gaining initial experience with racing bikes, along the Rhine there are countless flat kilometers with beautiful views and good paths. Routes such as to Kaiserswerth or Zons are part of the tried-and-tested repertoire of countless families with trekking bike experience. Disadvantage: the cycle paths are full. And many of these paths are also attractive for walkers. The farm roads and small side streets that run through the entire Lower Rhine provide a remedy for racing cyclists. But in order to cobble together these winding paths into usable routes, you either have to have countless kilometers in your legs and a photographic memory, memorize the cycle tour map of the Lower Rhine or push the cycle route planner to its limits on your home PC. All impractical solutions.

That's why we at the Chic Hat thought we'd invite you novices and newcomers to take a little tour with us. Everything is very relaxed and relaxed, on a route with little traffic and in a small group. We cycle about 40 kilometers at a moderate pace, nobody has to be afraid that he/she will be left behind in the middle of nowhere. You need a good mood, a well-maintained racing bike, an energy bar and a filled water bottle. Appropriate clothing helps, shorts and a T-shirt are probably a bit too ambitious for the end of February, despite all the hopes for great weather.

If, after returning to the cap, everyone sits over coffee, exchanges ideas with the passengers and makes an appointment to do this more often, it was a complete success. Then we will certainly do it again soon.
