Cyclingworld 2018 – Düsseldorf’s cycling fair is establishing itself…

Cyclingworld 2018 – Düsseldorfs Radmesse etabliert sich…

The fact that a bicycle fair in the Areal Böhler, whose debut in 2017 didn't even make it into the official supporting program for the Grand Départ, has developed into a project in the bicycle industry that attracts attention nationwide shows that Düsseldorf and bicycles can very well work. While on the one hand one is looking for the positive and lasting after-effects of the start of the tour, the final preparations for the second edition of "Europe's new exhibition for the finest cycling culture" are being carried out in Lörick, as the fair describes itself with an affinity for marketing.

A contemporary consumer fair

Anyone who is active in the bicycle-loving environment and has experienced the upswing of the Berlin Bicycle Show in recent years, among other things, knows that bicycle fairs that not only convince the visitor technically, but also want to inspire them emotionally, work. Nevertheless, it is always a risk to establish a trade fair at a new location, even the BFS had a hard time with its established concept in Vienna. The start was successful in Düsseldorf, visitors, exhibitors and the press were impressed and enthusiastic about the debut of Cyclingworld. Stefan Maly and Torsten Abels, the makers behind Cyclingworld, filled the imposing industrial halls with a good mix of exhibitors with persistent persuasion at the debut in 2017 and were also able to convince small and innovative brands to book a stand at the new trade fair. Such an annual event suits Düsseldorf and the large catchment area of our state capital very well, as it can help to shift the focus from the supposedly cool car to the future hottest means of transport in the inner cities. Visualizing the increased interest in the subject of bicycles with the help of a trade fair is not the dumbest and most absurd way to convince critics of the mobility change.

A time of upheaval and change

Cyclingworld comes at the right time. And therefore has a great opportunity to establish itself in the trade fair landscape in the long term. The aforementioned Berlin Bicycle Show is being realigned due to personnel changes, influenced among other things by the restructuring of Berlin Velo, which can now look forward to the grounds of Tempelhof Airport as a venue. And the EuroBike, one of the world's trade fairs for everything to do with bicycles, is currently reacting to criticism and the absence of the market leaders with various activities that trigger both approval and shaking of heads in the industry. A consumer-oriented trade fair that focuses on exciting, innovative brands, that presents crafts, services and Industry 4.0 side by side and that can be adequately staged in a city like Düsseldorf with the necessary infrastructure, is just right.

We from the cap are there as exhibitors ourselves, will be able to welcome many of our brands here in our hometown and will certainly make new contacts. We are looking forward to the extensive supporting program, in which we will take two trips together with our partners and friends from listnride , whoo , Biehler and Lake are represented. On Saturday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. you can look forward to cake at the listnride stand in front of the main entrance. Then we get on our racing bikes and roll under the banner " cake & rockets " 70 flat kilometers on the left bank of the Rhine with a swivel past the rocket station. Arriving at the finish at the Böhler Areal, we will hike with the whole entourage to the cyclocross track around the corner to cheer for the heroes of the cross race over a final beer. On Sunday morning we meet again at 10:30 a.m. at the listnride stand and start at 11:00 a.m. for the “ Schotter, Kies & Moos ” tour. A varied tour along the Rhine awaits you, from forest motorways to sandy sections and asphalted farm roads to single trails. We recommend Crosser, Gravelbike or at least wide tires on the Renner. After returning, a small snack and enough time to enjoy the fair to the fullest.
