Explore Corsica – short break with the Tour de France

Explore Corsica – Kurzurlaub mit der Tour de France

No matter what we do in the cap, no matter what moves us, keeps us busy, inspires us: in the end it's always about cycling. Here in Düsseldorf or somewhere else in the world. We are therefore pleased that the Amaury Sport Organization, ASO for short, the well-known organizer of the Tour de France, has approached us to present a very special short holiday for ambitious hobby cyclists in the cap. We invite you to an information evening on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 7:30 p.m., where Clara and Florian from the OSA will have French appetizers to tell you more about the “ Explore Corsica ” tour, a very special combination of boat trip and cycling trip. to experience.

The journey itself starts on the evening of June 7th in Marseille, from where the ship sets out for Corsica. On the morning of June 8th, the first 115km long stage awaits you on the Mediterranean island. All in all, you can look forward to three days, three stages, more than 350 kilometers in total, 6500 meters in altitude and a colorful international peloton. A splendid short trip for everyone who enjoys steep climbs. Corsica, 180km long and 80km wide, is also often called “Mediterranean Mountains”. Not surprising on an island whose surface can be counted as mountainous to 86%. And above all, Monte Cinto is enthroned with its summit at more than 2700 meters.

But it's not just the local conditions that make you happy, the organization on the part of the ASO also sets standards that come close to a professional peloton. You'll roll across the island behind the official Tour De France lead vehicle, escorted by thirty support motorcycles. Professional technical and medical care, which takes care of the well-being of man and machine on the roads of Corsica and on board the ship in the evening, is just as much part of the service as a relaxation program, massages and a tactical meeting as a daily preview of the following stage.

Anyone who enjoys the competition should be particularly happy: the front runners of the various classifications are honored every day. There are probably few organized bike tours over several days that come as close to the conditions of a tour with professionals as this event. So don't be surprised if you roll down Corsican roads side by side with one or the other ex-professional. But not only cyclists are considered, fellow travelers without cycling ambitions can look forward to a varied program, from organized city tours to yoga, everything is included.

And have we aroused your curiosity? If you would like to find out more about " Explore Corsica ", about group bookings, available offers, catering options and the various activities, we invite you to an evening on the topic in the cap. Anyone who decides to participate now or after our evening will get a little treat: enter the code when booking SCHICKEMUTZE2018 and you will get a 10% discount on the travel price. Simply that way. So use the code and be happy about this small benefit that we can offer from the cap in cooperation with the ASO.

(a little hint: the code works for all bookings from German-speaking countries...)
